"Anyone who imagines that bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he has been robbed. The fact is that most putts don’t drop, most beef is tough, most children grow up to be just like people, most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration, and most jobs are more often dull than otherwise. Life is just like an old time rail journey ... delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride."

Well...

Unless she decides to come tonight... tomorrow is the Big Day!

Today WE had to make a decision. Because of Camille's size, my swelling, the distance we live from the hospital, how much I've progressed, and the time I'm missing from work because of feeling absolutely miserable (and these are just to name a few of the reasons) we decided to be induced. (BIG heavy Sigh...) Doctor was ready to do it today, but the hospital was booked- so, tomorrow morning... 6 am... the process begins... and baby girl should be in my arms sometime tomorrow evening.

I don't imagine I'll be getting ANY sleep tonight... my nerves are SHOT already. I'm terrified, because I will be going to the hospital perfectly fine and be chemically induced into labor and I'm disappointed because this was not my plan. But- on the flip side, I'm proud I was able to keep her in my tummy the full 40 weeks... (and then some) so, I know her little lungs are fully developed.  Also, 10-05-10 does look like a pretty cool birthday.

Patrick and I are going out to dinner tonight -just us two- and we'll probably rent some movies to pass the time... because, neither of us will be sleeping much.

if you're reading this- say a little prayer for Camille, Patrick, and I.

My thoughts and prayers are with all three of you. Can't wait to see photos of little Camille with you.

I have two children, now grown, but remember well how anxiously I waited for each of them to be born. My first child was a girl who, like Camille, waited long past her due date to be born--two weeks! My son, on the other hand, was so ready to enter this world that he arrived nearly six weeks early. Later is better, believe me. Both of my children were (and are) healthy but my daughter was a much happier baby than my preemie son was.

I hope that you have a swift, uncomplicated delivery.
