"Anyone who imagines that bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he has been robbed. The fact is that most putts don’t drop, most beef is tough, most children grow up to be just like people, most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration, and most jobs are more often dull than otherwise. Life is just like an old time rail journey ... delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride."

Lately....

Dinner Last Night
Broccoli Chicken Braid
It was delicious... HERE is the recipe
Next time, I will half the ingredients... it was just too much for Patrick and I. This is a healthy but very good meal, and Patrick thought it was fantastic- so Kudos for Christy!
I also have a very good Meatloaf recipe given to me by my friend Delana. I will make it one night soon and share. I'm not a big fan of meatloaf, but her recipe is the best! I'm making a concious effort on the nights Patrick IS home, to cook a good meal. What are your favorite EASY TO MAKE recipes? If you have one to share- it would be appreciated. :)
I have a "B" for my hallway, now. Purchased it at Ross- Thanks Dana. :)
Living Room Curtains are hung... finally!
I, along with three other girls, threw a Lingerie Shower and Bachelorette Party for our friend April. We had a BLAST! It was Firefighter themed... I made fireman hats for all of us to wear. April's said, "BRIDE" and had a White Veil attached and all of ours said, "April's Bachelorette Party 10-24-09" with red veils attached. We played Pin the Hose on the Fireman and watched April rack up on some great Gifts! After the shower we headed to Montgomery and booked our rooms at the Renaissance Hotel and then walked over to the Alley Bar. The band was Amazing, and even called April up on stage sing a song with them. We recieved A LOT of attention for our hats... everyone loved them. Around 1:30 we called a cab and rode over to Club 322 (a gay bar that has drag shows). We made it for the 2 am show, and once again, I saw to it that April was called up on stage. The drag queen Gayla (lol) made aBigToDo about April and it was hilarious! We danced the night away and made it back to the Hotel at 4:30 am. A fun time was had by all!
I always wanted to do a Fireman themed Birthday Party for my kid... and since I don't have one yet, this was the next best thing. Plus, it would be inappropriate to play Pin The Hose on the Fireman at a
child's birthday party anyways. ; )

Nice, like the mirror.. What color is in your living room? I'm wanting an avocado kind of color for my dining room but greens are so difficult to choose right.

Okay, after looking at other pictures, I'm thinking that your livingroom is tan. Actually, it might be the same color as mine. Sherwin Williams perfect tan? It looked green in the top picture.. And so my green frustrations continue :(

Hey Dana,
The color is called Jekyll Cottage Green and I got the sample from the VALSPAR brand at Lowe's. I sampled many greens and this was the only one I found that I truly liked. I had a local business in our town mix up the paint to match the Valspar sample- and they used Pittsburg Paint. The Valspar paint at Lowe's isn't very good, I suggest Benjamin Moore or Pittsburg. (Trust Me)

I would consider the green in my living room to be the avocado green you are decribing. Its a pretty green, light and not so in your face. Its beautiful with dark brown or black furniture. My floors are Red Oak and I think the color compliments my floor color well.

Hope this helps! :)
