"Anyone who imagines that bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he has been robbed. The fact is that most putts don’t drop, most beef is tough, most children grow up to be just like people, most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration, and most jobs are more often dull than otherwise. Life is just like an old time rail journey ... delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride."

Fortune Cookies!

I always get strange fortune cookies... In the past, I've blogged about how strange my fortune cookies are.
Add this to the list:

Patrick and I went to China Town for the lunch buffet. First off, let me tell you (totally off subject)... I probably eat at China Town maybe 5 times a year. I don't like buffets, they gross me out. The Reason: Growing up, when my parents would take us "out to dinner" it would always be a buffet type restaurant and we were always expected to eat enough food to hibernate for a few days... so, when we'd leave- I would always feel yucky, thus putting a damper on all buffet places since.
But, in the last two weeks I've eaten at our China Buffet joint three times. I've been getting huge helpings of steamed rice and a little bit of yellow rice. I haven't been able to eat much of anything lately, so the rice pretty much tastes like heaven. My diet has consisted of Peanut Butter toast, an occasional apple, and crackers/pretzels. OH! And popsicles...I eat about 6 a day!

Now to get back on subject:
After Patrick finished his lunch and I finished my rice, we opened our fortune cookies.

I opened mine first, and proudly read aloud, "This year your highest priority will be your family".
Not knowing my fortune cookie would soon be topped. I did the sweet, "Awwwww".

Then Patrick opened his, and it read:
"A short stanger will soon enter your life with blessing to share."

I cracked up, and after Patrick told me my laugh was way too loud for public places... I put the fortune cookies in my wallet.

How funny is that? So, I'm framing them with the date... and I'm going to hang them in my B&W picture frame hallway, right beside the baby room door. :)
