"Anyone who imagines that bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he has been robbed. The fact is that most putts don’t drop, most beef is tough, most children grow up to be just like people, most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration, and most jobs are more often dull than otherwise. Life is just like an old time rail journey ... delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride."

Weekend Warrior

Here is my latest "Weekend Warrior" Project:
Found this FABULOUS Wicker chair and the three leg table at Eastbrook Flea Market and Antique Mall in Montgomery.
Chair- $30.00
Table- $8.00
and then 10 percent off my entire purchase.
I went to Lowe's and bought two spray paint cans of Yellow and one of Flat Black.
I wanted a yellow chair in our bedroom to break up all the Blue, Black, and White... it was just too much. The chair was Hot Pink when I purchased it- and the table was red.
Then I added a vase I already had with some Wal-Mart flowers and then added my favorite wedding picture and now this is my favorite place in my house. And Surprise Patrick even likes it!
Elise found a table with built-in storage that Violet (her pet potbelly pig) couldn't tip over. We painted her table red and it looks wonderful.
Here is a close-up:
(Its really not quite as yellow as it looks)
Next Project- I have been buying black picture frames at yard sales to do an assortment of black and white pics for my hallway. I was looking at a blogspot today where a chick just finished her B&W picture display and added a large Black "E" (to represent their last name) to the array of pictures. I really liked that idea... and I'm on the hunt for a Wooden "B" to paint with my left over spray paint.
Word to the Wise
- when you paint wicker-
get more than enough spray-paint... I used every bit of the two bottles and didn't have enough to paint the underside.
