"Anyone who imagines that bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he has been robbed. The fact is that most putts don’t drop, most beef is tough, most children grow up to be just like people, most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration, and most jobs are more often dull than otherwise. Life is just like an old time rail journey ... delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride."

Yeah, she's pretty much a Celebrity.

Anyone that knows me knows I've had a little girls name picked out for YEARS! I shouldn't even post it on-line, for fear of a boom in the usage of this simple classic name, but its just too prevalent not to discuss.

Let me explain... Pennie has been the name of my unborn baby girl forever!
When I have talked about my "child" I refer to her as "Pennie."

"My Pennie would never act like..."

"I am totally having Pennie's pictures made like..."

"Pennie will take singing lessons..."
"Pennie will have an endless supply of all things Hello Kitty..."

...you get the drift...

Well, Last night I posted on Facebook that Patrick and Christy were expecting a baby in September. My wall was blown up with Congratulations... and many people commented about "Pennie". :)

Now, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the name Pennie! Its a wholesome wonderful name... and has anyone ever met a mean Pennie? No!

But Patrick is NOT having it... he won't even discuss naming our baby "Pennie" if its a girl. We have decided to discuss names ONCE we find out the sex, because after all there is a 50/50 chance that it just might be a boy. Boy names don't even come to me... I can honestly not think of one single boy name I like. I just know I like simple, classic, not trying to outdo everyone, names.

On another subject
These are the questions I have been getting the most:

Were ya'll trying?

No... But,why does it matter? He/She is coming and we're happy!

Do you want a boy or a girl?

I quickly answer, "Girl", and I get A LOOK because the correct thing to say is:

"I don't care what it is as long as its healthy, with 10 fingers and 10 toes."
yadda yadda yadda
Of course, I feel that way... but everyone has a preference. I want more than anything to be able to relate with our child right off the bat and that means being the Cheerleading sponsor and Dance mom. I'm sure that if we have a boy I'll learn to love football, dirt, and bugs.

Patrick is wishing for a boy, of course... and we both kind of think it is a boy because last September, Patrick was standing in line at a Bank in Montgomery when this elderly lady approached him. She began to converse with Patrick and explained to him that she is Jewish and she can see things (like the future, I guess). Then the lady went on to tell him that she saw a son in his very near future. Patrick came home that night and told me about it and showed me reading materials she had given to him. We both just laughed it off... but here we are with a baby due September 2010 exactly one year after the Jewish Ladies prediction. I guess we'll have to see if she was right.

In the meantime, I will refer to the baby as "Pennie"... and I enjoyed breaking the good news to some people with This:
I placed these little sheets of paper in trinket boxes and handed them out.
I'll post more pics soon!
