"Anyone who imagines that bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he has been robbed. The fact is that most putts don’t drop, most beef is tough, most children grow up to be just like people, most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration, and most jobs are more often dull than otherwise. Life is just like an old time rail journey ... delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride."

My life as I once knew it...

It's Friday night and I'm lying in bed when I hear lots of whispering voices and beating sounds coming from what sounds like my back patio. I jump up, quietly creep over to the french doors, and then pier out the side of my curtains. No one is out there... I listened more closely and discover what I'm hearing, from the inside of my house, is the High School Football Game announcer and the Marching Band.

Okay- We lived in this house during the previous previous football season, but have never heard football games... AND THE reason: because this time last year, I was out with friends--- not in the bed on a Friday night at 9 p.m.!!!
